Journey
Journey of Time2Chess
Time2Chess began with the conviction that chess molds young minds into strong thinkers and problem solvers. Mr Karthik Raj C founded the academy in 2019, after leaving his corporate job at the tender age of twenty-three years. He wished to build a place where students would learn through clear methods, steadfast practice, and guided mentorship.
The Academy has evolved into one of South India's largest chess institutions and now trains upwards of Thousand students across 14 countries and operates 8 learning centers in Chennai. A team of more than 40+ internationally rated and trained coaches provides personal attention to every learner.
Over 5000 students have completed our programs, developing confidence, discipline, focus, and strategic thinking. In the past year alone, more than 300 students won prizes in various district, state, national, and international events. Time2Chess continues to inspire students and guide them towards realizing their complete potential.

Meet Our Founder & CEO- Mr. Karthik Raj
Founder and CEO, Time2Chess | International Chess Player | Rotarian
Karthik Raj is a leader, entrepreneur, and chess professional who works to change young lives through the game. He founded Time2Chess and built it into one of South India's largest chess academies. He mentors over 800 students across 16 countries and helps them grow in chess and in life.
He is an internationally rated player, a participant in the Commonwealth Games, and a double National Schools bronze medalist with over 150 accomplishments. He is a highly prestigious FIDE Instructor, the highest coaching level, and is also a National Arbiter and a FIDE Certified Trainer. These are the qualifications that have enabled him to deepen the academic foundation at Time2Chess, making a holistic contribution to the sport by not only training students but also organizing professional tournaments. As a very committed Rotarian, he uses chess as a tool to foster qualities of discipline, leadership, and clear thinking among young learners.
